A log sticking out

The pearl oyster is found in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. Its shell is the “mother of pearl,” which is of great value for ornamental purposes. Each shell contains eight or ten pearls of various sizes. The gifts that God has given us such as discernment, word of knowledge and wisdom, visions, of faith are instrumental to the benefit of others. In fact, the entire leadership of the church as Paul stated to the church of Ephesians is for the edifying of the church (4:11-12). The purpose we are called and is set before us is to build each other up (1Th5:11-12, Ro14:19). It is crucial to other believers that we aim purposefully unto edifying one another so that we can at the time of trial we are equipped to stand. What holds a building together is all of its components, and without one it does not fulfill its complete purpose. It is a pearl when we find someone who is constantly seeking to build someone else up while building himself (Jd1:20).

Matthew 7:6

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Jesus in this sermon on the mount tells the listeners that being judgmental is a dangerous practice, because someone is always going to judge us back. That before we pass judgement on someone else, we need to analyze ourselves first. Sometimes in looking deep inside us we will find some out of place logs that need to be removed. A constructive word is like a pearl to someone else, and we must make sure that when we send it there is nothing that will undermine it. Jesus said that we should not give the holy unto dogs, meaning that we have something holy to say to someone, and we cannot just give it too just anyone. The bible calls that which we have a treasure and us jars of clay (2Cor4:7). There are many people today who are treasureless. They have lost their pearl. Christianity has dropped from 51% in 2009 to 43%. When we pass judgment on others with Jesus called a log in your eye, your treasure becomes trampled on, and they turn on you. There needs to be search for the pearl as that of the women who lost her coin whom Jesus said in the parable that she turned her house upside down looking for it (Lk15:8-9)

Your pearl is a life changing item that cannot allowed to be trample upon. That is why watching yourself that there are no logs in your life is crucial for someone else to be saved.
