Laws in a nutshell

Law is a set of rules that are created and are enforceable by social or governmental institutions to regulate behavior, with its precise definition a matter of longstanding debate. They are like rules of a game by which help to guide the players to play fairly. There are 4,312 laws in the USA. God gave laws to his people in the Old Testament of which were divided into three parts; spiritual laws with the ten commandments, civic for government, and the Levitical which dealt with ceremonies. There were 613 laws in the Old Testament.  With the laws came consequences for the infractions thereof, yet people constantly have sought out ways to either brake or go around them. James says that if a person knows how to do what is right and does not do it, it is counted as sin (Jm7:14).  John mentions something along this same line as James in that if a person sins, he breaks the law (1Jh3:4). And, like physical laws there are spiritual laws as well. Such as, the sow and Reep law which states that whatever you sow you will reap like wise and it must be done in relationship with God (2Co9:6).

Romans 3:26-28

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

God is the justifier. So, what is to be justified? Justified means having, done for, marked by a good legitimate reason. Paul tells us that we are marked by Christ, if we believe in him, if we have the faith of Christ. The religious boasted in the law, their entire life was based on trying to fulfill the law. But, a new law came about in the New Testament that was not found in the Old, the law of faith. And this law of faith has rules by which we must follow. But before we discuss the principals of faith, one thing that Paul notes is that a man is justified or marked by a good reason without the deeds of the law. Faith must be in God alone(He11:6). We need to be obedient to faith as instructed by the writings of the apostles and the scriptures (Ro1:5). Jesus said that if we love him, we must keep his commandments (Jh14:15).  We must believe that what we ask for in prayer that we will receive it (Mk11:24). Another principal of faith is that we walk and live by it. In other words that our entire life is faith based (2Co5:7, Hab2:4). Faith has to be accompanied by works or action otherwise it is dead (Ja2:17). The children of faith must abide by the principals of it otherwise it is considered disobedience.
