An immediate effect of the resurrection is peace. The shameful death of the Cross for all except Christ altered or terminated ones life. But, for Christ’s it only unleashed an immediate effect for anyone like no other. It out God to the test asking will Jesus rise it will be remain dead like everyone else. He rose! One of the greatest need man has is for peace.
Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Since the great fall of man with Adam and Eve all that man has had guest for is for peace. But peace cannot be easily acquired, and each time we try to get it we lose it (eze.7:25). People have tried everything to get some sort of peace unsuccessful(PS 120:7). True peace came from the resurrection of Christ. Jesus prepared his disciples with his words so that when tribulation would come they would have peace (Jh16:33). The peace that comes from Christ is acquired differently then from that which once can acquire from the world (Jhn 14:27). The peace that comes from Jesus happens when one embraces the resurrection whole heartily and decides to live accordingly and it endures through any circumstance life brings. It is a insignia from God (Ro. 5:1), we have peace with God through Jesus. Where as, the peace that comes from the world will be interrupted with the first sign of affliction. Once God’s peace is received it is something that no one can take away (is.26;3). Peace is one of the foundations of Christianity and of the kingdom of God (ro. 14:17).
