Missing the mark in the dart game is an example of life and the Christian walk, we aim to get a bulls eye. And, depending on factors such as experience, nerve conditions and the ability to concentrate we can hit or miss the mark. Missing the mark in Christian terms is known as sin. Now, the sin game has been played for a very long time. Throughout history we have seen men get entangled with sin and get into trouble because of it. There are four who are most of the time sin can affect, God, others, ourselves and our planet. The origin of sin we trace it back to heaven with Lucifer and God’s angels (Is. 14:13). Lucifer missed the mark of why God and everything he has done. He listened to his heart, Lucifer that is, and the bible teaches us that the all evil comes from the heart (Mk. 7:21-23). From heaven sin came down to man; to Adam and Eve, Eve saw that the fruit was pleasant to look at and desirable she ate and gave some to Adam (Ge.3:6). This sin of Adam and Eve affected all and it continues to impact us.
Psalms 32
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
It is a wonderful felling to be forgiven. When we get the understanding that someone; that person whom I have sinned against, has forgiven us we get a liberating feeling. David said that a person who has been forgiven is blessed, that their sin is covered. The covering of sin David referred to is in reference to Christ effect in us and we see it with Adam and Eve when God covered them with the skin after they sinned (ge. 3:21). David’s regret for the sin he committed affected his performance in life, his demeanor totally changed up to the point that he could not say a word. The guilt that comes with every infringement depends on each person. Some whose heart has been harden will take longer to see God’s restoration then those who listen to their guilt and react to it. David said that he was not going to hide his sin and was ready to confess them (Ps. 32:5). When we come to God with those intentions whether our sin is to our selves, him or someone else He forgives us (1Jh.1:9). God does not hold grudge on us for sinning, but is kind and forgiving to us when we fail (Lk.6:35).
