Today’s Christians fruit is like non other time. Christians before watched their p’s and q’s. They watched the way they dressed, where they hung out, the fruit they produced was different then any other religion; it is “Traditional Christianity”. Some of the values that traditional Christians practice deal with the following Christian principals:
Micah 7 :1
What misery is mine!I am like one who gathers summer fruit at the gleaning of the vineyard; there is no cluster of grapes to eat, none of the early figs that I crave.
- Modesty- 1 Timothy 2:9
I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
- Speech- Bilingual speakers; people who speak sports, politics, gossip mixed with distorted verses, pious parrots according to CNN.
-
The bible tells us in Colossians 3:16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
-
- Fleshly desires- Today we have a quest to follow the things that feel good.
- Romans 8:5
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. -
Romans 8:8
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
- Romans 8:5
- Drinking-Today’s cultural adaptation of drinking among Christians it is off from traditional values.
- “Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise,” (Proverbs 20:1, ESV).
- “Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may run after strong drink, who tarry late into the evening as wine inflames them… Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink,” (Isaiah 5:11,22, ESV).
- Stumbling blocks-
It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
The prophet is a symbol of Christ and the fruit of the vine is the church he desired to find fruit on the tree, but did not. Because, of the cultural change today Christians are called to be different. Our culture is not what is trending now, because the bible already has set a never changing culture (Phil. 3:2o). Jesus had a similar encounter with the fig tree, that he came to find some fruit and found none (Mk. 11:12). God from time to time comes and visits us to see the type of fruit we produce, if we produce good fruit, bad fruit or any fruit at all.
