Everyone is invited.<\/h3>\n

Being invited to a wedding, especially a formal one, is exciting, especially if one has good tides. Most people, if they do not have a good enough relationship with the inviting party, will probably ignore the invitation or decline to attend. Back in the days me my buddies and I were party crashers; we did not need any invitations. We would look for cars decked out for a wedding, and we would crash in. Everyone knows God in one way or another. The bible tells us that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea (Hab 2:14). We have been preaching about God and his invitation to the kingdom of God since the very beginning of time. Noah, in his time, spent 100 years inviting people to the ark. He preached about the great flood that was coming and how God was no longer going to continue to contend with man (Gen 6:3). The invitation for man to come and commune with God continued throughout time. The Psalmist shares invitations for us to come and enjoy the works of God (Ps 66:5-6). Zachariah said that one day we will invite each other and sit safely under the fig tree and commune (Za 3:10). <\/p>\n

Matthew 22:11-14<\/p>\n

11 <\/sup>And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:<\/span><\/p>\n

12 <\/sup>And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 <\/sup>Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

14 <\/sup>For many are called, but few are chosen.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the parable of the great banquet, we find that the king was upset because when he sent his servants with the invitation for all his guests to come and enjoy, they all ignored the invitation. He then sent other messengers, but the invitees made light of the invitation, and some went their way, but others mistreated and slew the messengers. So, he sent other messengers to invite people from the highways, and they came. Everyone came dressed for the occasion, except for one. One might ask, how did that person slip past the guards who inspected the guests who came? When the king saw him and confronted him for not being properly dressed for the occasion, he stood quiet and did not reply. Everyone is expected to dress for the occasion if they are coming. John says that the church made herself ready with deeds of righteousness before the wedding with Christ (Rev 19:7-8). <\/p>\n

For the wedding of the lamb, for which everyone has been invited to attend, everyone needs to have the proper attire. The changing of attire to attend has to be voluntary. Jesus said that whosoever will<\/em> save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it (Mt 16:25-26).  The word will<\/em> is a voluntary action. And the word lose <\/em>it is to put away entirely, knowing where it will go. <\/p>\n
