Our light shines<\/h3>\n

Summer is in the air, the birds are chirping, and the sun is shining bright. Light does good to everything. Our entire planet benefits from the sun’s light rays. Some symbols of the light are life, hope, clarity, energy, worth, and deeds. Light shines out of darkness. It can be with you as it can be in you. Jesus told the people that only for a little while was the light going to be with them, referring to himself. The scriptures tell us to let our light shine before men so they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven (Mt 5:16). The light of our deeds needs to shine before men. The light inside us cannot be hidden; it radiates out of us as a city on a hill (Mt 5:14). The eye is the lamp of the body, and the way we perceive things says what kind of light we have inside (Mt 6:22-23). <\/p>\n

John 12:35-36<\/p>\n

35 <\/sup>Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

36 <\/sup>While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.<\/span><\/p>\n

We can be followers of the light and not have the light within us. When we believe in the light, we become children of the light (1 Thes 5:5), so it is through faith. The children of light walk as children of light, not as of darkness (Ep 5:8). Children imitate what they see of their parents, so if we are children of light, they should be doing what we are doing. The bible tells us that man’s enemies are those of his household (Mt 10:36). But if we walk in the light, we will have fellowship with one another (1 Jh 1:7). As parents walking as children of light we don’t need to war against our children if they walk also as children of light. <\/p>\n
