Likewise, when he makes a promise, he keeps it. The bible says let all men be liars, but God true (Ro3:4). That is what makes God an attractive being, he is consistent and there is not yes, no or maybe at the same time in his promises. There are several promises among the so many that God has made, that are particularly directed towards his Son and his work. One of the promises is called the Abrahamic Covenant of which God told Abraham that he would bless him everywhere he went, and that he would be a blessing to the world (Gen12:2-3). In this blessing God points to Christ the one who would bless all those that receive him. There is a promise that all things will work out for a good (Ro8:28), to those who love him. He promised to comfort us when we face trials and tribulations (2Co1:3-4). And he promised that he would supply our needs according to his riches and glory (ph4:19). There are several estimates of the number of promises God has made in the bible and one is about 7,000. Each of the promises God has made they are yes and Amen to the fulfilling. While we have become used to including no with yes or maybe, God says yes and amen!

2 Corinthians 1:17-20

17 Was I fickle when I intended to do this? It is a worldly way of thinking when we have to not commit. Paul says that it is a worldly manner of thinking when we breath yes and no at the same time. James says that a person of such inconsistency is like the wave on the seashore, it comes, and it goes back and forth (Ja1:5-8). Jesus said that anything else out of yes and no comes from the evil one (Mt5:37). Paul calls this idea of yes and no coming out at the same time a double-tongued person; where at one moment a person may say something and at another, he will say something on the contrary (1Tim3:8) and this he was referencing to one of the qualifications of a deacon.
