The psalmist wrote that everything that has breath praise the Lord (ps150:6), calling even the most insignificant cell that has life to praise the Lord. When we engage in worshipping and praising God we trigger an intimate behavior with him and attract his attention. David said in a psalm that when he cried out to the Lord and praised him he listened to him (ps66:17-20). So, when we come into prayer one of the first things I recommend is for one to engage in praise and worship before anything else. But, the problem that most believers face with worship is the question of “What do I say”. The not knowing how to praise the Lord, and the initiating intent is what God is looking for. Throughout the New Testament we find Jesus scolding and correcting the religious with regards to their approaching God with their elaborate prayers (Mt6:5). There is something powerful that comes out from an attitude of being unlearned and ignorant of the things of God.

Psalms 8:2

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

There is a strength that comes out of person and to that person when he/she engages in a praise moment even though he does not know how. We have an enemy that is out to destroy us and he will use everything around us to kill, steal and destroy us as the bible says (Jh10:10). But, when we take that moment to worship God, when that hard time is boiling over us a victorious feeling comes over us and assures us that God is in control. Now, this Psalms 8 was writing as a dedication to how we need to look at God and how excellent he is and that he is perfect fitting for us. The title of this Psalm is taken from the tune of the instrument by which it was supposed to be sung “Gittith”. A Theologian by the name of Dr. Hammond grounds this Gittite to Goliath the Gittite by whom was slained by David. David like a young boy that he was after being scold by his brother Eliab decided to ignore his sibling and attend to the cause ( 1Sam17:26&29). Strength came to David when he ignorantly decided to worship God by deciding to arise to he occasion.

Jesus said that we need to become like little children so that the kingdom of God be ours (Mt18:3), and so when we come to him as if we do not know anything he becomes glorified.
